ばいこう堂 Products from Baikodo

Baikodo is a manufacturer of wasanbon sugar, a specialty of Kagawa Prefecture made using traditional methods. Ordinary sugar can be made from sugar cane in as little as 24 hours, but this wasanbon takes about 60 days from the pressing of the cane. In order to showcase the beauty of wasanbon, craftsmen make it into wonderful shapes using wooden moulds.
