JAPANESE WINE CULTURE

Yoshiko Ueno-Müller Master of Sake and one of “Top 50 Sommeliers of Germany” was honored to present a selection of Japanese wines for a group a selected people, including food & wine journalists, hospitality owners and sommeliers. General consul Mrs. Setsuko Kawahara, has chosen 6 of her personal favorite wines for the audience to taste and also to explore the potential use, as a food pairing during this tasting.

Overall it was a great exchange learning about the wine making culture in Japan, exploring the local grape varieties such as Koshu and Muscat Bailley A, and also international grapes like Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and even Viognier.

This was a great example how different wine cultures communicate.
