Urakasumi Zen

This sake was one of the first Junmai Ginjo to be launched in Japan. It was introduced back in 1973. It is a very well-balanced sake that represents the typical, elegant style of a Junmai Ginjo from northern Japan. Zen is timeless and still delights today with its delicate aromas and mild taste. The aromas are reminiscent of yellow fruit and fresh herbs. The taste is very soft with a delicate acidity and gentle umami. Inspired by the Zen monk, it offers a culinary meditation. It pairs particularly well with sashimi and sushi or grilled poultry.

浦霞 Urakasumi

Founded in Miyagi prefecture in 1724 as sake brewer for offerings to the Shiogama shrine. Since the 1930s the brewery was led by the famous brewing master Hirano and gained important prizes. They are famous for their aromatic Ginjo style with strong character. The brewery developed the sake yeast no.12.
