Gokyo Nene Sparkling

A light sparkling sake with low alcohol content and fine perlage as a result of bottle fermentation. Aromas of pears, dried fruit and nutmeg. The taste is slightly acidic and pleasantly sweet. Brewed with the soft water of the Nishiki River, it makes a positive impression with its purity and clear finish. Reminds of Mosato d'Asti. Ideal as an aperitif or paired with desserts.

五橋 Gokyo

The brewery was founded in 1871 in Yamaguchi prefecture, near the Nishiki river. By using the soft water of the Nishiki River, the brewery produces a mild and aromatic sake. All brewers are from the local area and they provide Yamaguchi sake with local roots. The brewery name Gokyo means "five bridges", named after the five interconnecting bridges "Kintaikyo" over the Nishiki river.

Classification of Premium Sake

For high quality sake, rice is polished prior to processing with the goal of eliminating the bran and protein which encase the starch held at the center of the rice grain.
