From June 2–7, 2026, Nippon Connection returns to Frankfurt as the world’s largest Japanese film festival outside Japan. Alongside films, visitors can experience a wide cultural program featuring workshops, concerts, tastings, and culinary events.
As part of the festival, UENO GOURMET presents three special tastings dedicated to sake and Japanese food culture at Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm.

Together with Yoshiko UENO-MÜLLER, guests will explore exciting combinations with cheese, salami, and snacks while discovering why sake works far beyond sushi.
Kimoto & Yamahai

Explore two of Japan’s most traditional sake brewing methods with Naomi Ito. Kimoto and Yamahai create powerful, umami-rich sake with lively acidity and deep complexity through natural fermentation and craftsmanship.
All tastings take place at Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm – Studio 2, last approximately 1.5 hours, and are held in German. Participation is limited to guests aged 18 and over.
